My December newsletter via SquareSpace just dropped. But that doesn’t mean I’ve dropped it.

To drop or not to drop?

I just sent out December’s Girl Meets Voice newsletter the old-fashioned way, via Squarespace. If you’d like to become a subscriber over there — free, into perpetuity! — you can do so here.

I’m still experimenting here on Substack, still learning my way around. I’m not ready to create any sort of paid subscription at such a fledgling stack. Perhaps after my next book has landed, I will. I’m cautiously optimistic that said book is hovering toward its landing pad, but I’m currently in that waiting-for-decision period that, unfortunately, spans long when it’s hanging out at the kind of press where it’s currently (happily! not complaining!) hanging out.

In the meantime—and also into the future—one Substack that feels like it would be of true value for paid subscribers imho is ’s For Dear Life, a newsletter with interactive Q&A and writing advice from a pro. I really love Maggie’s stack vibe (is that a term?), not to mention her recent-ish memoir, You Could Make This Place Beautiful.

I’m curious, my very dear 23 (updated: 26!) subscribers: what Substacks are your favorites these days? Are there ones that you pay for that you would recommend? I’d love to know, in comments. TIA.

We word on,

Deborah
